AroundAbout Community Magazines, Inc.

AroundAbout Community Magazines, Inc. (“ACM”) began franchise operations in September 2002 in Woodstock, Georgia. ACM franchises hyper-local direct-mailed community magazines, each with a mission of “building stronger communities.”

ACM was founded by Gina Carr and Don Kyle. Together they started The TowneLaker magazine (now known as AroundAbout — TowneLaker) in June 1996 and Sixes Living magazine (now known as AroundAbout — Sixes Living) in June 2000. After many years of practice, they decided to franchise the hyper-local community magazine concept through ACM.

Currently, ACM owns and operates three magazines, AroundAbout — TowneLaker, AroundAbout — East Cobb and AroundAbout — Cumming. Sixes Living was sold to a current Franchise Owner in December 2006.

The founders and associates of ACM have been heavily involved with their community throughout this entire process — a key component of the success of the ACM concept. Likewise, a successful Franchise Owner also must get involved and become a part of their community in order to create a successful hyper-local community magazine.
